We’ve all been in that situation where your in a public place and you see someone with their tag sticking out their shirt, or their pants have slipped down a little and you can see their lacey underwear or you see someone walking around with toilet paper stuck to their shoe or worse caught up in their clothing. Do you comment? Or do you ignore it?
Whether you comment or not it’s up to you but when it comes to social media, PLEASE COMMENT!
Facebook and Instagram prioritise posts that have a lot of comments. So here are my two tips when it comes to comments. First comment on other people and businesses posts. Be the first person to leave a comment on things that grab your interest. People want to know what you think. This has multiple benefits. It shows that your company is active in the online community. Helps build other businesses. And it gets your name out. People can be following a different company go to write a comment and see your comment and profile pic and bingo bango, they’re on your page. Commenting on other companies posts and pages can also help build collaborations and cross promoting.
Second in your posts. Leave a question. Think thoughtfully about why your posting in the first place. What information you want to share and whether you can get an interesting question out of it that will generate comments. Now when it comes to placing your question in your post there is two great options. Either start off your post with your question then talk about your answer to your own question in the post and state your question at the end again. Or start your post with an eye grabbing statement and put your question at the end. Either way don’t put it in the middle as by the time a reader gets to the end they will forget to comment.
So if you want your post to be reached you need to fish for comments by asking intriguing questions and don’t be afraid to get in there in leave some comments yourself!
